Surveillance training: our courses
The Level 3 BTEC in Advanced Surveillance is as suitable for operational police officers wishing to enhance their existing surveillance training as it is for serving members of the armed forces wishing to apply some of their training to a commercial environment.
Our courses are bespoke and designed to offer innovative training to:
- police officers requiring enhanced training over and above that provided by specialist CROPS courses, and particularly the application of CROPS training to urban environments, creation and deployment of static/remote systems and methods of entry
- antisocial behaviour
teams who wish to enhance their skills and learn new methods of
tackling this growing problem
- Ministry of Defence personnel wishing to take advantage of resettlement grants available to them to take up a career in the surveillance industry
- other government bodies required to carry out surveillance but lacking the specific knowledge or equipment to conduct operations with confidence.
Our standard Level 3 BTEC in Advanced Surveillance includes the follow core subject areas, which are supported by practical exercises in our simulation centre, urban environments and outdoor training facility:
- the laws governing the use and application of manned surveillance
in the UK
- information gathering
- initial reconnaissance and conflict resolution
- foot and mobile surveillance practices
- creating rural observation points
- creating urban observation points
- using and deploying static/remote cameras
- methods of entry
- planning a surveillance operation
- night surveillance operations and filming in low light conditions.
Participants also benefit from the first person on scene medical training delivered as part of each course and which carries a separate Basic qualification. This training is specifically geared to the threats and injuries most likely to be encountered by surveillance operatives or firearms teams.
We also offer a series of bespoke courses that focus on areas of interest to our law enforcement and government agency clients. In particular, we have developed several courses specifically geared towards modern policing. These surveillance courses include covert method of entry, the highly specialised application of CROPS training to urban environments, covert camera installation and advanced close target reconnaissance techniques. There are other specialist sections of our courses which we are happy to discuss directly with clients.
We believe that no other company in the UK offers such a diverse range of training in surveillance, based upon the retro-research gained from real operational scenarios that our teams face each day.
The cost of the BTEC in Advanced Surveillance is £1,997.50, including VAT.
We will require a non-refundable deposit of £399.50 to allocate a place, with the outstanding balance payable on the course start date.
